Snippet fest
If you follow me on Facebook, you know I announced that I’m in the lead up to the final confrontation of this book. Exciting stuff. And to celebrate a snippet.
Snippet
“Talon?” Kira lifted up onto her elbows. “What are you doing here?”
The oshota broke off another piece of the galaxy lolly pop with his teeth, chewing loudly. “Finn called. Asked me to keep an eye on you.”
Kira started to nod before she stopped. Just wait a minute.
“How long were you watching?”
“From about the time you fell over the railing,” Talon admitted.
“I didn’t fall; I jumped,” Kira defended. “You didn’t at any point during the last few minutes think that I could use a hand?”
“You looked like you had everything under control.”
This was what he thought “under control” looked like?
Talon finished his galaxy lolly, stepping off the container to land with a thump a second later. “I didn’t think anyone could be more of a reckless idiot than your father, but I was wrong. Congratulation, sword. Consider me officially impressed.”
“Gee, thanks,” Kira said dryly.
“Anytime.”
The sound of Graydon calling came from the next row.
“Over here!” Kira shouted.
Talon walked over to stand beside her as Graydon and his oshota came into view. “Just so I’m tracking, how much of what just happened are we planning to keep from the emperor’s Face?”
Cue author’s evil laugh. Oh Talon, it’s like you’re encouraging bad behavior in Kira.

I loved it!!! Talon, the new Jin, it will be amazing! I just finished rereading other Firebird books, but I’m sure there will be at least one more rereading before the new book 🙂 Time to make more space on my bookshelf 🙂

Have re-read this twice. I bet Talon was not so cool about it all… it might be funny to see the events from his point of view.

I love this series and the complex world, adventures and story -telling that you concieve in your books for all your heroines.
I love Kira and hope that Kira and Jin continue have their own goals, plans, and adventures, with all the plotting and clever sneakiness involved to achieve them to protect the ones they love.

I genuinely can’t wait! This series and your books are some of my favourite comfort literature, my comfort shit in general. Take your time if you need, we’re dying over here but if time is what it takes then we’ll love it even more.

Why oh why can’t you stretch this another book or two…or 10? I don’t want this ride to end! Adding Talon to her oshota is going to be so epic! I will take care of the twins for you, anything needed to get more of Kira, Jin, Fin, Grayson and all the rest.
