The Weekend
I have a whole list of things I should probably be doing today but very little motivation to do any of them. At least yesterday I was productive. I managed to finish formatting the manuscript for Botanical Mischief and wrote the introduction for the world so that new readers aren’t completely lost. (A surprisingly difficult task given how complicated this world is.) I’m pretty proud of the end result. Although, I’m sure there is something I missed.
All that is left is to create a print version then get everything uploaded to the proper sites. Oh…And maybe I should do that thing called marketing. Sighs.
Now that Gus is in the final stages, I’m beginning to turn my attention to my next project. I’m at a bit of a crossroads. There’s always Firebird 7 to work on. Except I kind of wanted to write Gus 2 before that because I have a feeling those characters might cross over into Firebird and they need a good set up. Lots of forty three moments. But I’ve also been tinkering with a romantasy book for the last few weeks/months. I’m 20,000 words in and finally understanding the world and characters so I’m loath to switch projects. I wish I was the kind of writer who could work on multiple things at once, but unfortunately that doesn’t work for me.
We’re also going on vacation soon so that’s not helping with my level of concentration. I’m pretty sure my brain is already there. Maybe the weekend will shed some light on what I should do.

Sounds like you are making great progress! I’m looking forward to Gus and what a Mycorr is; so I’m happy to hear about a Gus 2.

I love Gus! Is she you least action-hero action hero? Sometime with superpowers who is why and doubts het superpowers voor not really? I really really like her not wanting to acknowledge her caring even as tears are staining her cheeks.
And with one of the most powerful men in the Galaxy about to pursue her? Same what’s Ryan’s game?
I am really liking forward to Gus 2! Hope you’ll really really really enjoy writing it!

Just finished it. I had started another book I need to finish so a little slower. Loved Gus’ story. I really like Gus and still want to know more about who or what the Mycorr are. Loved that Gus took down both Caius and Ryan. I wonder if she will go back to Titan with having all her siblings there. Kind of a bummer if she loses her home. Okay, time to reread it.

Oh boy, I understand you feeling torn, I feel the same. Kira is my absolute favorite, so more Firebird is always my hope. But I just finished Gus and loved her book, and can’t wait to see where things go next, so I wouldn’t cry about that being your focus either. Aaaaand I love your Pathfinder series, so a new romantasy also sounds glorious.
Well, at least there’s no wrong choice!

Can I ask, would you include dates for your blog posts. I am eager to read more exploits about House Asunder and Gus being inconvenienced by the intrusion of more siblings. I have re-read Kira’s stories and Gus multiple times this month of June 2026. It’s so hard to wait for more books…I’m a Ilona Andrews fan and their fan base calls themselves the book devouring horde! Your books deserve a book devouring horde too! Unfortunately I foresee a future summer or rereading all my book series from my favorite authors Ilona Andrews, Michelle Sagara, Jim Butcher and you. Please promise to write more blogs and have some news on upcoming books soon. No presh! Lol
