Back at It
It’s been a hellacious few days. Probably some of the worst in a really long time. Both children ended up in the hospital again for bronchiolitis. The eldest had a three day PICU stay.
As dire as that sounds, things are on an upward swing. Everyone is home and on the mend. It’s sunny out and the girls made their desire to be outside enjoying the brief period of nice weather known. I finished the last scene of Gus’s story yesterday. Now, I’m formatting so I can send to the betas today.
Truthfully, I should do one more round of edits before letting other’s see this, but I’m tapped out. I’ll just have to catch it after I make the changes the betas request.
I’ve been getting a lot of questions about when this book will be published. At the moment, I’m looking at June. The date might be pulled forward depending on when the cover is ready. I commissioned an illustration for this cover so it’s taking a little longer than it normally would. I’m really excited to see what the artist creates.
The next chapter of Gus’s book will be uploaded to the blog tomorrow. I was going to do today but my ability to focus is still a little shaky. You’ll just have a nice Friday treat instead.

Always so stressful to have your little ones in the hospital. Or, just ill and not feeling well for whatever reason. Not sure they both sleep well either. One of mine still does not to this day at 31 but it was hell when he was smaller. You need a spa day or something that relaxes you. I myself hate massages but my oldest loves them. Facials with warm towels can be really relaxing… even getting some alone time to nap or read. Get an indulgent ice cream for yourself or some take out you really love.Maybe you have family nearby to help(I hope). You can’t worry about Gus and her book. It will happen when it happens. Take some time and care for you. We Moms tend not to do that… you sound totally exhausted. Hope you get some well deserved rest.

Oh my, you have had a rough few days, take your time and have a rest. Sometimes its when the worst is over and you relax, that everything hits you. Thanks for even thinking of us and giving us an update in the midst of your family emergency.

Take what time you need for yourself and your babies. Ill be sending good thoughts and healing light. Its hard when the littles are sick.

Speaking as one of the children who freaked out their parents with various and sundry bronchial disorders: we do get better. Really. Truly.

Hope everyone is on the mend! I can’t wait to read Gus’ story. Thank you so much. I love the Firebird Chronicles and anything set in that world!

I’m so happy your little ones are back home and on the mend. Hope you are able to rest and recover some.

Super happy your crew is on the mend, sorry you had to deal with all that. I did a Firebird re-read while one of my little ones was in the hospital for a major surgery last year; it helped me a lot. Thanks for the awesome stories, and wishing you all a quick and full recovery.

This is one of the hardest times of motherhood in terms of the sheer physical toil, and it must be much more challenging with twins. That you get any writing done at all amazes me. I’m glad they’re doing better, and I hope you grant yourself some grace to rest for a bit.
