Back At it
Happy New Year!!
I hope everyone came through the holiday season in one piece and relatively healthy. Maybe it’s because the twins are making me more conscious of it, but I don’t think I remember a past year where there have been so many illnesses. From Thanksgiving until now, it seems like the majority of our family and friends have either been sick or been exposed to someone who is sick. It makes me glad that my husband and I decided to limit visitors and only have our parents over for the holidays. Unfortunately, even some of them got sick so the twins first Christmas took place over a video call.
Now that we’re in the new year, it feels as good a time as any to start picking up the reins of my next book. (Firebird 6.) I like to take a little time before each new book to reread the previous books in the series. This allows me to refresh myself with the world and all the loose threads I still have in the mix. With the Firebird world in particular, I have so many subplots that it’s almost impossible to keep everything straight.
I’m at the end of Age of Deception now. I probably won’t start writing for another week or two so that I can let the ideas percolate. Until then I’m hoping to maybe write a short story to knock off some of the cobwebs since it feels like forever since I last put pen to paper–or more aptly, fingers to keyboard.
We’ll see. The twins may say no to that idea.
My main focus this year is the next Firebird book. After that, I’ll finally start that new series I’ve been hinting at forever.
One last piece of business before I sign off–Dusk’s Portent will be an audio book. As usual, I have no idea when it will be ready to publish. When I have that date, I’ll let you know.

So excited for the next Firebird, I just did a complete re-read due to illness over the festive period and not sure what character is top of the list to find out what’s going to happen, jin is currently top of the list!!

KYAAAAAAA!! Omg we get to find out what happens when Jin wakes up!!
And looove the idea of some short stories. Whoop whoop! Or even a spin of series! *🤯*
Thank you for giving us these worlds and characters. I’m a little scared what this year will bring so being able to escape into another world is a gift.

There was more illness this year! But don’t worry about Christmas on THE day. We just had ours on Jan 5th because we wanted everyone to get healthy and enjoy. And kids still
waiting for one more with the cousins who are finally healthy.🤪Love your books and appreciate your writing skills!

Glad you made it thru the babies first holiday season. Enjoy every day…

Limiting visitors was brilliant. And probably more restful with twins. Hope you have a wonderful new year.
So excited to know what happens next. I can see this series going on for a while. Such potential. I must say the audio is stellar. I can no longer reread without her voices. Firebird is hands down my favorite series. Even over Lackey, Moon, McCaffery and Weber as a GenX bookworm.
Each book has been a gem, thank you!
Hope the new year is kind, be kind to yourself and don’t stress about the time – your books are worth the wait. -
Yes you have loose ends in the Kira chronicles . I also remember telling you I was having trouble keeping track of who knew what when at one point. Glad to know you, the creator, need a bit of a review. Tho now I’ve reread the series so many times there is no confusion. You are a Gem – not a Jin! Happy life and writing.

Just wanted to let you know that The Firebird Chronicles were on my best of the year list for 2024 and I’ve been diving into all of your backlist in the last couple of months since I picked them up. You’re easily a new favorite author for me, and I’m looking forward to anything you write.
